Pronunciation

/turn up fōr jeezus/

Definition

Turn up can mean to act crazy due to consumption of large amounts of alcohol, marijuana, molly or other drugs[1]. As noted, this "turning up" often includes the usage of substances to get into a certain state of mind. However, in the Christian community, it can also mean to get very excited, hyped, energetic and on fire for Jesus Christ and usually this often includes being "high on the Holy Spirit." Some argue that "turn up for Jesus" is used with a sarcastic tone.

Example Sentence

Y'all I turned up for Jesus at Church this morning!
